William's Personal Life...

Real estate is absolutely my passion! But, my interests and background go far beyond selling real estate.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). My wife and I were married in 2001, and we have three beautiful daughters. For about 13 years, I worked for a small college in Florida where I started as a tech support person in their Information Technology department. Having great communication and interpersonal skills, I was promoted steadily up to Director of Information Technology where I managed all the computer, network, software, and phone systems for our college campus, the students, and our elementary school down the road.

I've always enjoyed playing sports... golf and basketball in particular. From middle school through college, I also played in concert band: alto and baritone saxophone were my instruments. Prior to having children, I coached middle school basketball and rec league basketball. Through a group at church, I learned how to ski back in the early 2000's here in Breckenridge and have enjoyed going once or twice a year to snow ski. In 2019, I learned how to snowboard as well. Gotta say, for the comfort of the boots alone, it's worth learning to snowboard!

When I was in high school, I started a video production company and ran that for about 7 years. The company produced training videos for corporations and did event videography for individuals. Photography and videography skills still serve me well today!

Back shortly after 9/11, I had a tremendous fear of commercial flying. To the point that I needed medication before I could handle a flight. Hating to take meds, I looked for better ways to deal with the fear. So... I learned to fly! Understanding how things work has always been a fundamental part of my personality, so understanding airplanes and learning how to fly removed 100% of fears!

During my IT stint, my wife and I owned rental properties, did some rehab and flip projects, and I always found myself gravitating towards real estate. The stress of the IT world finally got to me, and when it was clear I needed a career change, real estate was the perfect fit at the perfect time in the market cycle. It was 2013, and the market was finally recovering from the great recession.

I spent my first year in real estate working strictly with investors and learning the investment side of the market: wholesaling, owner-financing methods, lease-options, rehabs, and networking. As the market for distressed properties started drying up, I made the switch into traditional real estate sales.

Understanding people, and their reasons and motivations for buying and selling real estate has served me far better than typical agents' sales training. I don't sell real estate... I help people achieve their goals by understanding what they want to accomplish longer term, and guiding them to the best decisions for the moment.

This is a philosophy that has served my clients extremely well. Over 80% of my past clients have used me multiple times and the majority have given me referrals to friends and family members. Many have referred me for the explicit reason that I'm never pushy or "salesy"... I just do what's in their best interest.

In 2018, sensing a shift in the market, my family sold all of our real estate holdings and embarked on an adventure to build our own home in the mountains NW of Fort Collins. Utilizing my rehab and previous management skills, and developing an entirely new set of skills in the trades has been a vastly rewarding experience! Seeing my wife and daughters learn skills in concrete, framing, electrical, plumbing, operating heavy equipment, etc. has been absolutely wonderful!

Our church family and friends that we've made in this mountain community have become some of our most treasured relationships!

It's been a pleasure to share a little bit of my background with you. I look forward to meeting you in person and helping you meet your real estate goals!
