Direct From William...
Choosing a real estate agent to work with should not be a chance decision. As with any profession, not all agents are created equal. So, be deliberate about choosing a Realtor, and have candid conversations with them.
Here's a few things I consider to be my strengths:
Not a pushy salesperson
I despise sales people! Truly, I do. The biggest compliment that many clients have given me over the years is, "You're not pushy. You're patient and take the time to truly care and answer all of my questions." In fact, I've had many referrals come my way that have said they were referred in large part for this reason.
My job is NOT to persuade you into buying or selling. My job IS to help you find the RIGHT home that helps you meet your goals, and to be an ADVOCATE for you to help you through the process. Many agents are in it simply for the money, and you're a transaction. I am NOT that kind of agent.
I take time to understand your needs
Buying or selling a home, believe it or not, is not about features of houses, or paperwork, or "the process". Those things are important, sure, but first and foremost real estate is about understanding PEOPLE. PEOPLE buy and sell houses. And they have specific reasons for doing so. Understanding where you are now, and what you hope to be doing in 1, 3, 5, even 10 years down the road affects when and where you should buy a home. And, when it's time to move on from a home. Understanding your LIFE and GOALS helps me to make the best recommendation, even if that recommendation is "stay put" for another year. Yes, I've recommended that to people before. And, it's appreciated more than you can imagine! You're a valued person, not a transaction!
Only a few clients at a time!
Sales teams are all the rage these days. But, they are NOT in your best interest, in my opinion. If you get shuffled off to another person on the team at various points along the way, ask yourself if you're really a valued client. I know my limits, and never take on more than a few clients at any given time, because EVERY client needs my FULL attention to dozens of details along the way. As you search for a home, you'll discover priorities change and new details may emerge that effect what type of home you want or need. As your agent, it's my job to pick up on those things and offer advice to make sure you're making the best decision to meet your goals. I'm with you from the beginning all the way through closing and beyond!
Experience FAR beyond average
Most agents know the process of buying and selling extremely well. And, that's good. But how many agents have hand-built a house from the ground up? How many have years of remodeling experience? How many have the ability to help you truly understand potential issues and remedies during the buying or selling process? I do. From running heavy equipment, to pouring concrete, plumbing, framing, finish work, electrical, I've done it all! And that experience can help you avoid costly pitfalls that other agents may not know to look for.
No cost to buyers for my services
If you've bought a house before, you probably assume that's true of any Realtor. But, frankly, its not. Many agents charge retainer fees, transaction fees, or require you to pay a minimum commission (and you're stuck paying the difference if a seller is offering to compensate them less than your agreed amount). Simply put, that's not fair to you as a buyer. And, I do not charge any of those junk fees. My compensation is paid by the seller of the property you ultimately choose to buy, and that's that. You are charged nothing for my professional help through the home buying process!
In conclusion...
There are no contracts that bind you to work with me. If you're not happy with the service I provide, you are free to select a different agent that you're comfortable with. I love helping people meet their real estate goals. Earning income is necessary in our world, but I'm not in this purely for money. It's about building relationships with people and truly being of service to them. And, I look forward to helping YOU! Let's get started!
