Mountains

Market Update

The mountain regions of Colorado's Front Range provide spectacular views and great quality of life, day and night! The photo below shows some of the amazing night skies!

Prices vary significantly in the mountain regions, so providing general statistics is not overly helpful. Prices are generally lower for comparably sized homes in the mountains than they would be in town, and if you're looking for space to spread out, lot sizes are frequently 1-5 acres, often more, compared to 0.1 acre lots in town. That being said, there are plenty of million dollar homes available in the mountains as well!

The mountain regions include towns like: Livermore, Red Feather Lakes, Virginia Dale, Rist Canyon, Laporte, Masonville, Drake, Estes Park, Lyons, and Allenspark.

The lifestyle of mountain living is fantastic! It's a slower-paced, more laid back life surrounded by beauty at every turn. Yet, you're not isolated. The people in these regions are helpful and genuine. Frequent community events draw people together for potluck meals, festivals, and meet and greets. Technology keeps you connected to work, school, and friends. Frequent wildlife sightings add to the joy of living in these areas.

When looking at mountain properties, you need a Realtor like myself who understands various water and septic systems, their pros and cons, and maintenance needs. It can be a very different experience living full time in the mountains versus in town! Make sure we speak extensively about those differences so you can be fully informed!

Note: the sample size is considerably smaller for mountain areas, so data may appear to have large jumps in pricing depending on the price of the few properties that have sold during the time period.
